New Mexico Green Chili Hemp Burgers – vegan!

We made these for our 4th of July celebration and they turned out great! Finding a vegan burger that holds up on a grill can be challenging, but these did great! The trick is not flipping them more than necessary. Let them cook 10-15 minutes on the first side before flipping.

 

New Mexico Green Chili Hemp Burger Recipe

15 oz can of black beans
5 TBS chopped green chili
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup almonds
1 1/2 cup hulled hemp seeds
1 cup cooked quinoa
sea salt to taste (optional)

Blend the black beans, green chili, and garlic and set aside. Separately blend the almonds, hemp seeds, quinoa and salt. Combine in a large bowl with the bean mixture.

Form into 8 patties. Grill on medium high heat for 15 minutes then turn for another 5-10 min.
