Vegan Hemp Mushroom Burgers

These are similar to our New Mexico Green Chili Burgers.  Finding a vegan burger that holds up on a grill can be challenging, but these do great! The trick is not flipping them more than necessary. Let them cook about 10-12 minutes on the first side before flipping.

 

Vegan Hemp Mushroom Burger Recipe

1.5 cups of cooked garbanzo beans (16 oz can-drained)
1/4 to 1/2 cup of chopped mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds
1 1/2 cup hulled hemp seeds
1 cup cooked quinoa
sea salt to taste (optional)

Blend the garbanzo beans, mushrooms, and garlic and set aside. Separately blend the almonds, hemp seeds, quinoa and salt. Combine in a large bowl with the bean mixture.

Form into 10 patties. Grill on medium high heat for 15 minutes then turn for another 8 min.
